How You Can Help

Donate to the scholarship. We welcome donations to the Scholarship, which supports graduate students enrolling in the School of Public Health or other graduate schools at the University of Minnesota, who have indicated a commitment to working directly to improve the lives of older people. Donations are tax deductible.

The University has established the President’s Scholarship Match program, which will match dollar for dollar the payout of the scholarship. For more information about the Match program, please click here

Up to 50 percent of your adjusted gross income for gifts of cash in the year can be claimed on taxes. Excess deductions may be carried over for up to five years.

Volunteer.The Award and Scholarship Ceremony Committee is an energetic and dedicated team of volunteers composed of Shelley’s colleagues, family, and friends, as well as Hennepin County employees, business and community leaders, and those with an interest in aging-related issues. Volunteers should be passionate about issues of aging, available for meetings once every 2-3 months by phone or in person, and able to make a one-year commitment. To volunteer as a member of the planning team for the Award and Scholarship Ceremony, please contact info@sjktribute.org .
